Race Car

As products, performance parts and engine management technology is constantly improving and developing over the years so is the Castle Hill Performance race car, as a test bed for latest products available the car has constantly evolved with the times.
With the team set their goals higher every time the car hits the track the VT is constantly changing and going faster.

In early 2010 the Castle Hill Performance was finally back together after comprehensive ground up rebuild and transformation. This was a total revamp of the car as it was known, it now featured ¾ chassis, 408ci single turbo combo sitting super low over huge 33×16.5”x15 Mickey Thompson drag slicks, the featured in street commodores once again in issue 173 .

This combination worked well and ran 8.2 @ 170mph straight up.

After this the car did not do much for some time.

In 2014 the car came out again featuring a face lift, new signage in black and black wheels, the major change was under the bonnet, the VT now featured LSX based 438ci engine, larger garrett gt55 turbo and engine management had been upgraded to Haltech. Straight up results were very pleasing, the VT ran 7.50 @184MPH !

Just after the race car achieved its best time of 7.5 @ 184 it was featured in STREET MACHINE LSX TUNER MAGAZINE (mid 2014) alongside one of our customers cars RX3LSTT.

With the project constantly evolving 2016 saw some more upgrades to the LSX platform including monster Precision 118mm CEA single turbo, this combination saw the car run 7.3@ 193mph.

Come end of 2017 the car has taken a fresh and completely different direction, the LSX platform has been ditched in favour of 548ci Big Block Chev combination including twin 94mm Garrett turbochargers, the big 33×16.5 MT slicks have been replaced with much smaller 315 pro radial tyre.

13.4.18 the car finally dipped into 6 second zone with 6.90@ 207mph.

Future plans include pushing to go a few tenths quicker on 315 pro radial, when this is done we will be putting the big tyres back on and resetting our goals to chase a 6.5 pass.
